Frequently asked questions
Is it possible to visit the park and the chateau with a lunch break in between?
Yes, your ticket is valid all day. So you can visit the park in the morning, leave the estate for lunch and then come back for the guided tour (or in reverse order). Make sure you keep your ticket for your second visit.
Where to eat near the castle?
You can eat at one of the following addresses, just a few kilometres from Meillant.
In Arpheuilles, 2.5 km away: Le Gal'ton
In Uzay-le Venon, 6 km away: L'Embuscade
In Saint-Amand, 6 km away: Restaurant Le 215 - Hôtel Le Noirlac, La Rotonde, L'Amandois
In Bruère, 10 km away: Auberge de l'Abbaye de Noirlac
IS THE CHÂTEAU DE MEILLANT LOCATED IN MEILLANT OR CHÂTEAUMEILLANT?
This is a legitimate question, as there is a village called Meillant and another called Châteaumeillant within a 20-minute drive of each other in Berry. Château de Meillant is in Meillant, not Châteaumeillant, so check your GPS when you start your journey!
