⚠️ The castle is closed for the winter.
The autumn of 2024 was marked by the death of the owner of Château de Meillant, Aimery de Rochechouart,
Marquis of Mortemart.
The date for the reopening of the château will be announced
as soon as it is known.

opening days and hours 2024
Open every day
from 30 March to 3 November inclusive.
In October:
on weekdays,
10am to 12.30pm and 2pm to 6pm.
Weekends and public holidays, open continuously from 10am to 6pm.
In November:
open only on weekends 1-2-3 November
and 9-10-11 November from 10am to 5pm.

Frequently asked questions
Is it possible to visit the park and the chateau with a lunch break in between?
Yes, your ticket is valid all day. So you can visit the park in the morning, leave the estate for lunch and then come back for the guided tour (or in reverse order). Make sure you keep your ticket for your second visit.

IS THE CHÂTEAU DE MEILLANT LOCATED IN MEILLANT OR CHÂTEAUMEILLANT?
This is a legitimate question, as there is a village called Meillant and another called Châteaumeillant within a 20-minute drive of each other in Berry. Château de Meillant is in Meillant, not Châteaumeillant, so check your GPS when you start your journey!
