L'automne 2024 a été marqué par le décès du propriétaire du Château de Meillant, Aimery de Rochechouart, marquis de Mortemart.
Aucune date ni conditions de réouverture du château n'ont été arrêtées à ce jour par ses héritiers.
Si vous avez besoin de valider votre sortie dans le Berry rapidement, nous vous conseillons de réserver une visite au Château d'Ainay-le-Vieil ou à l'Abbaye de Noirlac, qui sont également de très beaux monuments de la région.

Good practice guide
at chateau de meillant
You would like to spend some time at Château de Meillant, a private residence listed as a Historic Monument. We ask you to take note of this guide to ensure that your activities take place in complete tranquillity.
Free visit of the park
- Applicants are responsible for their guests.
- Parents must supervise their children, as the site is surrounded by a moat.
- Photography is only permitted outdoors.
- Dogs are allowed on a lead in the park.
- The park requires special maintenance. The lawns are protected areas; they should be cared for, but not trampled on. The same applies to all plant and animal species, which must be preserved.
- Ashtrays are available at each seating area, so please do not wander the aisles with a lit cigarette. A fire only needs a small ember to start.
Practical information
- Arrive on foot or by car via the Château or Vénerie gates
- Toilets: toilets and water are available at the ticket office on the ground floor.
- Rubbish: no rubbish will be left on site. Please dispose of it in the containers provided. Black for food, yellow for packaging.
